Dr. Helena Barreto Henriksson

Dr. Helena Barreto Henriksson is Clinical Director of Studies at the Department of Research, Education, Development and Innovation, Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenburg, Sweden. She earned her PhD in Medical Science in 2010 and was appointed Associate Professor at the Sahlgrenska Academy in 2016. Her work focuses on the planning, coordination, and quality development of clinical training placements for students across healthcare professions. She is engaged in research on pedagogical approaches to clinical education and workplace-based learning. In parallel, she is involved in translational research that aims to develop umbilical cord blood-derived erythrocyte components for neonatal transfusion therapy.
